A Personal Message from the artist, Robin Lawrence:
"I was diagnosed with stage four anal cancer with heavy metastasis to my liver on January 22nd, 2018. I’m coming up on three years. The last three years has been a roller coaster of high’s and low’s. While the primary cancer is gone, we’re still fighting numerous tumors in both lobes of my liver. More recently scans have shown cancer in both lungs.
My entire career has been in healthcare marketing with the last 18 years specifically in oncology. I loved it because of working with our patients and their families. Helping them with resources that are available in our community. One such resource is TOUCH Inc, a cancer-related non -profit that directly assists the cancer patient and their family. They assist with Transportation, Other needs, Utilities, Childcare, and Housing. Through my job, not a week would go by where I didn't talk about TOUCH to our patients or their families.
So now I am now on the other side of the fence being the patient. I’m not able to work and am on disability. But I am fortunate I had good benefits through my employer and I’ve had my Vibe Tribe helping me out in so many ways. I’m at a point in life where I want to give back... pay it forward. My God-given gift is my art. Since having cancer and not being able to work, I went back to my art studio painting the things in nature I love.... hummingbirds, butterflies, flowers.... anything to do with nature. I’m donating three different limited edition art prints and two originals of the art giving 100% of the proceeds to TOUCH Inc. This is my way of hopefully helping them. 100% of their funding is through fundraising or grant writing. Furthermore, almost 100% of the dollars go directly to benefit the patient. More than ever, these last almost three years have taught me about being here for one another. I’m here for TOUCH and am appreciative of the services they offer cancer patients and their families. I’m giving them a piece of my HeART ♥️!"
ABOUT TOUCH
TOUCH INC. (TOUCH) provides non-medical financial assistance for cancer patients if the applicant meets our criteria explained on the application form under “Who We Can Help”. TOUCH does not pay medical expenses, but we do help with regular, everyday expenses such as transportation, utilities, child care, housing mortgage or rent, and other out-of-pocket expenses that are non-medical but are unable to be paid by the patient as a result of the cancer diagnosis.
