The University of Evansville will sell a portion of the contents that were previously located within the Old Stone House, in addition to other items, at public auction on the above date as follows. Proceeds of the auction will go to the Ruth and Thomas Morton Jr. Endowed Scholarship. The Morton’s donated Old Stone House, a National Historic Landmark property, to the University in 1969. The University sold the property earlier this year.

Auctioneer's Note: In 1834, Old Stone House was built just outside present-day Newburgh, IN overlooking the Ohio River. Nearly a century later, The Morton’s purchased the property, which had fallen into disrepair & restored Old Stone House to its original splendor. After the renovation, the Morton’s furnished the property with interesting antique and modern pieces, including a dining table & buffet that was thought to have belonged to the first Governor of Kentucky.
